Acne Studios’ most disruptive denim proposition — these wide-leg trousers are constructed in a cotton denim base and finished with an all-over trompe-l’œil patchwork print that simulates a complex assembly of overlapping denim scraps, worn strips, and bleached panels across the entire surface of both legs. The effect is deliberately disorientating: from a distance the trousers read as heavily reworked patchwork denim; on closer inspection, it resolves into a flat printed surface. The tan leather Acne Studios logo patch at the right back waistband is the only conventional branding on an otherwise entirely subversive piece. A wide, relaxed leg and high-rise waist give the silhouette a maximalist, editorial quality.
