Acne Studios’ most compositionally complex denim piece — these wide-leg trousers are printed all over with a trompe-l’œil composition that simulates multiple layered belts, studded waistbands, and hardware-laden straps across the waistband and upper hip, transitioning into a heavily distressed and sun-bleached orange denim panel at the thigh, and resolving into a deep teal washed denim at the hem. The three-zone colour blocking — ornate hardware top, oxidised amber middle, cold blue-green base — creates a narrative arc across the leg that reads as an excavation of denim’s own history.
